“The pursuit of truth and beauty is a sphere of activity in which we are permitted to remain children all our lives.”  Albert Einstein

–Although I may have lost my innocence some time ago and developed a protective shield in response, my shell is only armor, not impermeable, and inside lies still a warm heart beating softly.

“Who could refrain that had a heart to love and in that heart to make love known?”  William Shakespeare

–My love is infinite, it grows exponentially.  I have so much to give and not enough time or people to give it to.  I’m working on being more efficient in solving that challenge.

“There are those who look at things the way they are, and ask why…I dream of things that never were, and ask why not?”  Robert Kennedy

–I think outside of the box.  Don’t know why or what’s it’s from, my illness or whatever, just born that way I guess.  But I dream dreams so big, so infinite, you simply would not believe.

“We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.”  Martin Luther King, Jr.

–I always wondered from when I was a very young child, why must I wait so long for everything.  It always seemed that others got what they wanted so much sooner, but perhaps their dreams were not so complicated to begin with.

“If one advanced confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with success in uncommon hours.”  Henry David Thoreau

–I am, to be quite honest, still waiting for those “uncommon hours”, but they will come, I surmise, when I least expect it.

“All men dream, but not equally.  Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity:  but the dreamers of day are dangerous men, for they may act on their dreams with open eyes, to make them possible.”  T.E. Lawrence

–I am a dreamer by day with wide eyes open, but in being so, have met with much resistance.

“A dreamer is one who can only find his way by moonlight, and his punishment is that he sees the dawn before the rest of the world.”  Oscar Wilde

–My experience has taught me that though I may see truth quite clear, that does not mean others too, can, are willing, or are ready also to meet with that same experience.

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”  Edmund Burke

–The trouble I have presently is bridging the gap between the truth that I see and the truth others cannot, will not, or are not ready to see.  I want to bridge that gap in light of my goal as it relates to the cultivation of beauty.

“When I do good, I feel good.  When I do bad, I feel bad.  That’s my religion.”  Abraham Lincoln

–Navigating people, in my experience for sure, is the most difficult set of lessons I have ever had to learn in life.  There is an inner compass I have discovered though, which leads me now, but a long time it was in the making and still how much refining I’ve yet to go.

“There has to be evil so that good can prove it’s purity above it.” Buddha

–I love Buddha.  He’s the smartest around.  You know he once said (I’m pretty sure…) to “Believe nothing, no matter where you read it or who has said it, not even if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense” (emphasis added).  I am a questioner from way back, you can ask my brother one-year my senior, he’ll attest to that without doubt.  I do not, anymore, trust anyone who is unwilling or negatively hesitant to answer my questions.  If you don’t know why you believe in something, you’re most possibly, quite frankly, either a mouthpiece, a fool, or both.

“Faith is taking the first step even when you can’t see the whole staircase.”  Martin Luther King, Jr.

I don’t know how or why or when I ended up in this position I’m in (ohhhhhhh Eminem, how I love thee….), but as Talib Kweli so eloquently put it in Reflection Eternal:

I was the portrait of an artist as a young man

All them teenage dreams of rapping

Writing rhymes on napkins

Was really visualization

Making this sh#t actually happen

It’s like something come through me

That truly just consume me

Speaking through the voices of the spirits speaking to me.

–It’s time to get down to business here folks.  I continue to make excuses that keep me from writing because I feel I have not “found” my voice, or that I lost it, or that I’m not sure where it is or whatever.  Wherever it is, I must find it. Now.  With every fiber of my being and every ounce of energy I can muster from within, I must find my focus and make this visualization here really happen.

      • Hmmm, I’m not sure why this posted as “Anon”, but anyway, it was from me. :)

I hope you don’t mind that I “borrowed” a large chunk of this for my post today:

On a prior post, I rec’d a comment from one of my followers about song lyrics I posted. The song was a duet and she commented she didn’t realize this until she went and listened to the song. In any case, when I saw your post, I thought it would be a great opportunity to see if I could use your comments (BOLD) contrasted with the quotes (normal type). If you don’t mind, let me know if it works for you.

Incidentally, I chose your words for the BOLD because they were more powerful than the quotes. …Individual nuggets versus a pirate’s chest.

        • Gosh, thank you. I don’t even know what to say. I appreciate your posting of my material and I’m flattered by it as well.

Sometimes I get so discouraged, especially as of late for some reason, trying to “find” my “currently present” voice. I forget to not worry and just write and then edit as best as is needed, then let it be.

There’s been so much going on in this limbo life state I’m in right now, its hard to process it all and write cohesive thoughts at the same time. I think once things calm down a bit, my head will too, and it will be a little easier to get the pen to the paper. Though also probably good practice to be able to write amidst chaos as well!

Anyways, Thank You. Very much so appreciated ;0) Will be catching up on my favorite blogs (incl. yours) very soon!!

            • That’s what I’m finding out as of three days ago when I did start again…ahh I missed it ;0) I don’t know if you saw my post today but I at least discovered a bit more as far as style goes. I’m sure it will develop more as I keep on (keeping on). Thanks for the note ;0)

  2. This is one more awesome post. In my view, the transparency and honesty as expressed in Kyrielle’s writings are surely remarkable. So here is my favorite quote that probably describes Kyrielle’s commitment, dedication and passion of writing quality material most appropriately, based on my understanding.

““Don’t bend; don’t water it down; don’t try to make it logical; don’t edit your own soul according to the fashion. Rather, follow your most intense obsessions mercilessly.”
    -Franz Kafka
