Lyrical Gems

Music has always helped me to cope, no matter what phase of life I’ve been in as of yet, no matter the type of struggle, no matter what.  Music matters.  To me, it makes all the difference.

For that reason, I wanted to take the time to dedicate a new page on TCOB to the music and lyrics I love most.  Hope you enjoy, whether a current music lover, or one in the making ;0)

And so, paying homage to my five-year-old-nephew’s reverence towards my mom’s DragonVale etiquette (“they’re called gems Mimi, not jewels”), here’s a running list of my gems:

No.1 – Ani Difranco, “32 Flavors”

No.2 – The Lumineers, “Stubborn Love”

No.3 – TuPac, “Keep Ya Head Up”

No.4 – Bob Dylan, “It’s Alright, Ma (I’m Only Bleeding”

No.5 – Tom Petty, “Walls”

  1. Thanks for dedicating a separate page to Lyrics on TCOB! I believe they are always underestimated! The good thing about music is as Frank Ocean has said – ” When you’re happy, you enjoy the music but when you’re sad you understand the lyrics!”
